They could be your excentric aunt, your doting grandmother, your thoughtful – or adventurous- mother,  your lonely cousin, your creative and too-enthusiastic sister…

Those are the ones you pass in the street, without seeing them. They dwell so far from the center of the bell-shaped curve of standardized beauty that they don’t make a blink on your radar. Condemned to keep a low profile, they stay on the sides forever in the movie stage of our busy lives. They take the time to look, to observe, to help.

Mature, older, bolder: though-as-nails or deceptively frail, meet feisty and fearless Lady Byrd, Running Jane, Cougar Sue…

Meet Ligia, a caustic geologist, overweight on Mars; Mistress Theodora, ruler of Gany City; Carmilla, a friendly and bumbling vampire orderly working at a Nursing Home, Blanche, a solitary paraplegic girl in a strange world… and Armelle, a frail-boned and shy Martian born of two mothers.

They are the formidable, proud, wonderful, odd-shaped, older, mature, their inner wisdom invisible or ignored.

Those are the wonderful odd women, starring in the WOW series brought together by Echofictions, celebrating the diversity of life, with humor, drama and gusto!

They are the WOW.

And their stories will be told.

Vous ne les voyez pas. Elles ne provoquent aucun blip sur votre radar.

Ce pourrait être une tante excentrique, votre grand-mère gâteau, votre mère – effacée ou ou aventureuse, votre cousine solitaire, une sœur animée d’un fol enthousiasme…

Pourtant, elles vous observent.

Ce sont les figurantes qui marchent à la périphérie du centre de l’histoire. Celles qui se tiennent si loin du sommet de la courbe de la beauté standard.

Condamnées à garder un profil bas, elles habitent sur la périphérie de l’arène de nos vies agitées. Elles prennent le temps de regarder, d’observer, d’aider.

Elles sont fières, merveilleuses, âgées comme le bon vin, leur sagesse intérieure invisible ou ignorée. 

Lady Byrd, ornithologue appelée à résoudre des énigmes, Ligia, une géologue caustique et obèse, sur Mars; Maîtresse Théodora, souveraine indisputée de Gany City; Carmilla, une vampire sympathique et maladroite travaillant au Foyer de retraite Icare… et Armelle, une Martienne fragile et timide née de deux mères.

Viendront les rejoindre Jane la coureuse curieuse et la folâtre et sans-gêne Cougar Sue.

Ce sont les Formidables, qui célèbrent avec humour et panache la diversité de la vie.

Et leurs histoires seront racontées.
